Three Alumni Receive 2009 Spirit of Service Awards

Three Marian College alumni will receive a 2009 Spirit of Service Award from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.  
Three Marian College alumni will receive a 2009 Spirit of Service Award from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. M. Lynne O’Day ’82, Maxine McIntosh Ferguson ’52, and Patricia (Patty) Able Schmalz ’68 are eligible for this year’s honors. O’Day is a former administrator with St.Vincent Health. Ferguson is a retired elementary school teacher and the former principal of St. Rita’s School; both she and O’Day also received Franciscan Values Awards from Marian College. Schmalz is a longtime volunteer with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Secretariat for Catholic Charities. TheSpirit of Service Awards recognize selected honorees for their charitable work in central Indiana and is a way to celebrate the successes of Catholic Charities Indianapolis while raising much needed funds to support the mission. This year’s dinner will be Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at 5:30 in the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
