I started my healthcare career as an EMT-B and discovered that I really enjoyed caring for patients. I then decided to pursue nursing at Olivet Nazarene University and obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. During that time, I worked in the emergency department as a tech to gain real-world knowledge and help pay my way through school. After graduation I started in the emergency department as a trauma nurse. After eight years in the emergency department, I began working at an immediate care and gradually moved away from the emergency department. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing at Lewis University with a concentration as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I enjoy sharing my real-world experiences to bring the textbook to life and provide a better understanding of the concepts being taught.
