What are the prerequisites for applying to the academy?
Candidates must have a master’s degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university. Candidates may be considered who do not yet have a degree conferred if adequate documentation is provided demonstrating that all the requirements for the degree have been fulfilled.
Candidates must have a cumulative graduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (as measured by the institution awarding your degree) at the time we receive your application, as well as at the time of graduation.

Leadership candidates will submit to background checks required by their school districts and Marian University. Marian University reserves the right to deny admission to or dismiss leadership candidates who have been involved in a criminal proceeding other than a minor traffic violation, regardless of the outcome. This includes criminal matters that were handled by a juvenile court and final determinations that are under seal or otherwise expunged from the public record.
When do classes begin?
Courses for the 2013 cohort three will commence in the summer of 2013.
What are the costs to attend the academy?
The program fee is $12,000. Financial aid is available.
Does the academy find a leadership position for my two-year mentor program?
Academy faculty and staff will advise and assist candidates with locating appropriate leadership positions and job opportunities. Faculty and staff will also help establish appropriate networks for candidates as they seek a school leadership position.
May I retain my current role or position and attend the academy?
Absolutely! Classes are held two to three Saturdays a month from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and on an occasional Friday evening.
