Get Involved
High quality green space and natural habitats are rare in Indianapolis. Over 85 percent of wetlands in Indiana have been destroyed and the wetland habitat in major cities is almost non-existent. For this reason and others, the Ecolab is a true jewel. The trails are in, honeysuckle (a non-native shrub) has been removed, and lots of re-vegetation work has been done, BUT there is still a lot left to be done! There are a number of ways you can get involved from providing funds to volunteering time and talent.
Help us:
- Increase our impact on the next generation with respect to environmental and historical education
- Restore features of the Riverdale cultural landscape
- Continue the fight against non-native, invasive plants
- Increase the native biodiversity in the EcoLab
- Monitor the progress of the restoration project
- Recruit and manage volunteers
