“I love the family-like atmosphere at Marian University. I built
close relationships with so many students, professors, and
staff that when I return now, I feel right at home.”

Meece was involved in cheerleading for four years, Ethics Bowl, peer tutoring, and the History Club. She was selected as a mass cantor, a leader of song and prayer at masses. Meece said, “All of these experiences helped me meet new people. I was given the opportunity to help others, while continuing to grow as a leader.” In 2005, Meece received the Senior Award for Outstanding Achievement in Secondary Licensing Program and the Sister Mary Carol Schroeder Memorial Award. Also in 2005, she was recognized by Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Beth Fields Meece was drawn to Marian University because she wanted the opportunity to serve the community and the personal attention she would receive with smaller class sizes.

Meece feels her well-rounded education helped her raise her goals and expectations in herself, “The liberal arts curriculum really pushed me to explore many areas that were outside of my comfort zone. The staff also worked hard to help push me to try things that I had never considered which is what motivated me to become a leader and school administrator.”
