The smiling face and friendly voice that greets you at our Keystone location belongs to Laura Kafka, one of the new MAP staff members. As administrative assistant at MAP Keystone, Kafka enjoys meeting and working with the students and faculty. A recent student herself, Kafka can truly appreciate the experiences of MAP students. "After being laid-off at my prior position as a bookkeeper, I returned to school full time at the Art Institute of Indianapolis and received my residential interior design diploma in October 2010," said Kafka. This experience helps give her a heightened awareness of the issues that face MAP students, because she knows firsthand the challenges of scheduling time to study and attend classes while keeping up with other life responsibilities. Kafka and her two daughters, Holly and Emma, and the family dog, Tori, enjoy living in the small town of Lebanon, Indiana. For leisure, reading, painting children’s portraits in oils and watercolors, outdoor activities, primarily camping, hiking and skiing, along with her own part-time interior design business, keep Kafka busy. When you’re at Keystone, be sure to stop by and say hello. There is also a new face in the MAP office at the main campus. Tennille Culp joined MAP’s staff in March. Her previous position as an advisor at a proprietary medical college, positions her nicely to work with current, as well as prospective students. Culp is a 2006 graduate of Purdue North Central, where she earned a bachelor of liberal studies degree. When not at her desk, she prefers to be at home with her husband, Jim, and their lively two-and-a-half year-old daughter, Bianca. As a family, they enjoy traveling, boating, and being proud Indianapolis Colts season ticket holders, fervently hoping the current lock-out situation is soon resolved. Stop in and introduce yourself to Tennille.
