Academic Scholarships

Saint Mary Academic Scholarship

  • Full tuition
  • Five awarded each year to first time freshmen
  • Competitive. Application deadline: January 7, 2011. Requires completion of Marian University Academic Scholarship Application and participation in one of two scholarship competition days to be held on January 29, 2011 and February 5, 2011
  • Minimum 3.75 cumulative grade point average, ACT 27 or SAT 1200
  • Renewable for up to seven consecutive semesters by maintaining cumulative university grade point average of 3.25

Saint Francis Academic Scholarship

  • Half-tuition
  • Fifteen awarded each year to first time freshmen
  • Competitive. Application deadline: January 7, 2011. Requires completion of Marian University Academic Scholarship Application and participation in one of two scholarship competition days to be held on January 29, 2011 and February 5, 2011
  • Minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average, ACT 25 or SAT 1150
  • Renewable for up to seven consecutive semesters by maintaining a cumulative university grade point average of 3.00

Saint Clare Academic Scholarship

  • Amount varies, up to half-tuition
  • Awarded to eligible freshmen and transfers
  • Freshman: minimum cumulative grade point average, 3.25, ACT 24 or SAT 1100
  • Transfers: minimum cumulative grade point average 3.00
  • Renewable by maintaining a minimum cumulative university grade point average of 3.00

James A. Allison Fellowship

  • Amount varies, up to $6,000
  • Competitive: Application deadline: January 7, 2011. Requires completion of Marian University Academic Scholarship Application
  • Selection based on academic performance and interest in entrepreneurship

Global Studies Scholarship

  • Amount varies, up to $3,000
  • Competitive: Application deadline: January 7, 2011. Requires completion of Marian University Academic Scholarship Application
  • Selection based on academic performance and interest in global issues

San Damiano Scholarship

  • Amount varies, up to $11,000
  • Competitive: Application deadline: December 15, 2010. Requires completion of San Damiano Scholarship Application
  • Selection based on academic performance, Church or religious involvement, and intent of post-graduate church related employment or significant volunteer service

Bishop Simon Bruté Scholarship

  • Amount varies, up to $7,000
  • Residence in Bishop Simon Bruté required

Athletic Award

  • Amount varies, up to full tuition
  • Competitive: selection based on athletic ability and potential contribution to team. Personal interview with a coach is required
  • Subject to Marian University, Mid-Central College Conference, and NAIA guidelines

Fine Arts Talent Award for Music

  • Amount varies, up to $6,000
  • Competitive: selection based on audition.
  • Selection based on talent and potential contribution to the music program

Fine Arts Talent Award for Marching Band Performance

  • Amount varies, up to $6,000
  • Competitive: selection based on audition.
  • Selection based on talent and potential contribution to the Marian University Marching Band

Fine Arts Talent Award for the Visual Arts

  • Amount varies, up to $6,000
  • Competitive: selection based on portfolio and interview with faculty.
  • Selection based on talent and potential contribution to the visual arts program.

Faith and Forensics Award

  • Amount varies, up to $5,000
  • Competitive: Application deadline: February 5, 2011.
  • Selection based on talent and potential contribution to the Marian University Speech Team.

Grants

21st Century Scholars

  • Full tuition and fees funded through a combination of Federal, State, and Marian University financial aid.  Up to 25 new scholars selected each year.
  • Must complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 10 and meet Indiana state requirements for the program.
  • Renewable for three additional years for students in good social and academic standing.

Diocesan Employee Family Grant

  • Varies, up to half-tuition.
  • Requires employee verification.

Marian University Grant

  • Varies, based on demonstrated financial need.
  • Must complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 10

Marian University Housing Grant

  • Varies, based on demonstrated financial need.
  • Must complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 10
  • Must live in campus housing
