Connections: A First Year Gathering
Early in the fall semester, the Connections: A First Year Gathering is an amazing time to become part of the Christian community at Marian University. The student-led retreat focuses on the four Franciscan values through personal stories, reflection on the life of Jesus, and prayer Amid all of that students will have the opportunity to enjoy to-die-for fried chicken, play ultimate Frisbee, and explore the grounds!
This relaxing student-led retreat helps students form a community of friends in a quiet environment to help reflect on their lives and get a chance to see God in a whole new way. Our first Koinonia will take place November 7-8, 2014.
Focusing on the seasons of Advent and Lent, these evenings of reflection provide opportunities to prayerfully consider the work God has done, is doing, and will do in our world and in our lives.
Rising, social justice retreat is forming this semester in response to our students’ desire to take service to a new level. Intended to expand our corporal works of mercy into positive advocacy, “Rising,” will be an intensive, experiential, reflective, educational retreat aimed at developing awareness of the gospel mandate to be the change, be the yeast, in building the kingdom of God.
