FAQ

Do I have to stay at the fair all day?
Yes.

Can a student come late?
This is extremely discouraged. Judges are on a tight schedule in order for each participant to be judged at least four times. Adult sponsors must provide just cause if a student should arrive late and the exact time of arrival. It will be the director’s sole decision to approve or reject. If the student is judged the minimum time, the project will be disqualified.

Do first and second grade need abstracts?
Yes. Age appropriate abstracts are expected. This grade is not required to produce same number of words as other grades.

When will I know scientific review committee approval?
Please contact Dr. Robert Yost.

We are an intermediate school. Can I bring my sixth graders to the elementary division competition on March?
With proper notification to Kym Flowers, sixth graders may attend the elementary division fair if this is convenient for adult sponsors.

Do I have to mail or fax paperwork prior to competition?
No.

When is the fair?
March 3, 2012 (Grades 1-5) and March 10, 2012 (Grades 6-12).

How do I register a student that does not have an e-mail address?
Create a new one or use teacher’s e-mail.

Can I stay with my child or student during judging?
No. Only participants, judges, and volunteers are allowed during judging times (9 a.m.-noon).

Can my child or student leave after judging complete?
Only first and second graders will leave the judging area early. They will be scheduled first.
