"The United States Economy and its Global Impact."
Allan Hubbard served as United States assistant secretary for economic policy and director of the National Economic Council (NEC) until December 2007.
The NEC is the administration’s coordinating body for policy matters affecting the various sectors of the nation's economy and the overall strength of the United States and global macro-economies. The membership of the NEC comprises numerous department and agency heads within the administration whose policy jurisdictions impact the nation's economy. Hubbard worked in conjunction with these officials to coordinate and implement the president's economic policy objectives.
In 1969, Hubbard received his B.A. degree, with honors from Vanderbilt University. In 1975, Hubbard received his juris doctorate with honors and his master’s degree in business administration with distinction from Harvard Law School and Harvard School of Business Administration.
Hubbard owns and operates a number of businesses, and is the former executive director of the Council on Competitiveness under the Bush-Quayle administration. He has served on a number of for-profit and non-profit boards, including Wellpoint Corporation.
