Students interested in pursuing a minor in global studies at Marian University are eligible to apply online for a Lugar Fellow scholarship. Generous scholarships are available to global studies students and may be combined with other scholarships or financial aid.
Application deadline for Lugar Fellow scholarships is March 1.
The qualifications for Lugar Fellow scholarships are:
- academic performance
- interest in global issues, foreign language study, and study abroad
- leadership and initiative
Requirements to maintain scholarships include:
- 3.00 cumulative GPA
- global studies minor in good standing
- participation in global studies co-curricular activities, including but not limited to assisting with preparations for the Global Studies Speaker Series and other public events, and interacting with the public community
Lugar Fellow Washington, D.C. Experience
Lugar Fellows are eligible for an exclusive, one-week spring break internship program in the Washington, D.C. office of Senator Lugar. Students meet with Senator Lugar, attend sessions of Congress, tour museums and the centers of power in Washington, visit a foreign embassy, and receive exclusive briefings by Senate Foreign Relations Committee staffers and other international experts.
