Marian University is partnering with Storytelling Arts of Indiana to offer an experience in storytelling to alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
Marian University is partnering with Storytelling Arts of Indiana to offer an experience in storytelling to alumni, faculty, staff, and students. The storytelling program will run April 10-May 22, with weekly sessions every Saturday morning 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. (Sessions will not take place April 24 or May 8, due to Knights Called to Serve and Commencement, respectively).   The storytelling program aims to help participants develop compelling personal stories that can help further their own personal and professional goals while also piquing the interest in Marian University among prospective students, potential donors, and the community at large.   The curriculum is based on the idea that stories grow, learn, and evolve. Through repeated telling and listener feedback, participants will gradually move from tiny seed-ideas to full-fledged stories that resonate powerfully with the listener. Participants move from telling in partnered pairs to telling before the class as a whole, so that the participants feel comfortable and safe as they acquire presentation proficiency.   For more information or to register for the storytelling program, please contact Barbara Stuckwisch, director of alumni affairs, at 317.955.6210 or alumni@marian.edu.
