Marian University is introducing a fully online Master of Science in Strategic Management program to help working professionals and recent college graduates develop the skills to lead organizations, manage change, and pursue new career opportunities.

The 30-credit program will welcome its first students in May 2027, with applications due April 1, 2027.

Students can specialize in one of two areas: Sports Management or Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Both build on a foundation in strategic planning, leadership, finance, marketing, organizational behavior, and decision-making.

The program accommodates working professionals with asynchronous, eight-week courses and can be completed in about four semesters.

“The MS in Strategic Management is designed to help students strengthen their business acumen, navigate organizational change, identify growth opportunities, and translate strategy into action,” said Lindsay Roberts, assistant vice president of online programs at Marian University. “Through a flexible, fully online format and specialized areas of study, including sports management and entrepreneurship, students can build practical skills that apply across industries and throughout their careers. Our goal is to prepare graduates not only to respond to an evolving business environment but also to help shape its future.”

The curriculum includes coursework in artificial intelligence and analytics, managerial finance, marketing strategy, and conflict management and negotiation. Students also complete an applied experience in strategic management that includes a micro-internship with an organization, allowing them to apply their skills in a real-world setting.

Students who want to build specialized skills before committing to a full master's degree can also begin with a nine-credit graduate certificate and apply those credits toward the degree.
