Austin Layton, a fourth-year osteopathic medical student (OMS-IV) at Marian University's Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine, has received the SOMA Foundation's Spring 2026 Leadership in Specialty Medicine Award.
Sponsored by Marvin H. and Kathleen G. Teget, the national award honors osteopathic medical students who demonstrate exceptional leadership and a commitment to advancing non-primary care medical specialties.
Layton was honored for his leadership, advocacy, mentorship, and research, reflecting his dedication to advancing osteopathic medicine and improving patient care.
