Inaugural celebration welcomes alums from across the country and establishes a new tradition of honoring lifelong connections to Marian.

Marian University celebrated generations of alumni on June 25th with the inaugural induction into The Golden Knights Alumni Society, a new tradition that recognizes graduates who have reached the meaningful milestone of 50 or more years since earning their degrees from Marian University, formerly Marian College.

The celebration welcomed graduates from the classes of 1953 through 1975, bringing together 234 alumni and guests, including some who traveled from as far as Florida to return to campus and reconnect with classmates and friends.

The day began with Mass and continued with a luncheon and recognition program honoring alums whose lives and careers reflect the values and enduring spirit of Marian.

Distinct from the annual 50-Year Class Reunion, the Golden Knights Alumni Society brings together graduates across generations who share a deep, lasting connection to the university. The society celebrates the loyalty, service, and lifelong relationships that define the Marian experience.

"Today's gathering reminds us that a Marian education is more than four years on campus: it is a lifelong relationship rooted in faith, community, and service," said Marian University President Daniel J. Elsener. "The Golden Knights celebrate alumni whose lives continue to reflect Marian's mission decades after graduation."

The new society also looks toward the future. Marian plans to establish a Golden Knights Endowed Scholarship, creating an opportunity for alums to support future generations of students and to extend the legacy of those who helped shape the university over the past century.

More than 2,400 living Marian alumni from the classes of 1944 through 1975 are eligible to become members of The Golden Knights, ensuring that the society will continue to grow as new generations of graduates reach the 50-year milestone.

As the inaugural class of Golden Knights gathered on campus, the celebration served as both a reunion and a reminder that, though decades may pass, the bonds formed at Marian endure.

A Marian education is not simply four years on a campus; it is a lifelong relationship rooted in faith, community, and service.
