Shadi Al Tori didn’t come to Marian University to earn a business degree; he came to build a future.
A double major in accounting and finance with a minor in global studies, Al Tori has distinguished himself as a student-athlete, leader, and global ambassador, while forging a path far from his hometown of Rahat, Israel. His accomplishments have placed him on Poets&Quants list of the Best & Brightest Business Majors for 2026.
“People often ask me what achievement I am most proud of,” he said. “My answer is always the same: where I am today.”
Fluent in four languages, Al Tori credits his upbringing for shaping how he connects across cultures. That perspective carried into his work as a U.S. ambassador for the Israel Tennis and Education Centers, where he travels nationally to share his story and promote unity.
At Marian, he balanced leadership on the tennis court, serving as team captain since his sophomore year, with academic excellence. A consistent Dean’s List honoree, he was named an Outstanding Accounting Student and earned the university’s Best Professional Growth Student Employee award. He also placed third in the Indiana Collegiate Accounting Competition and led a team in a mergers-and-acquisitions strategy competition.
“Business taught me that success comes from going beyond expectations and taking ownership of your personal growth,” he said.
Al Tori gained professional experience through internships with Go Destination Services, Allison Transmission, and CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. After graduation, he will join Republic Airways’ Leadership Development Program in Carmel, Indiana.
Al Tori credits his father’s difficult path to becoming a lawyer as a constant source of motivation.
“My dad taught me that success is not given,” he said. “It requires patience, hard work, and consistency.”
Looking ahead, Al Tori aspires to executive leadership and to lead by example.
“I want to show that long-term success comes from doing what’s right and putting in the work every day,” he said.
