Three Languages, One Calling: Marian’s Margo Greyvenstein ’28 Prepares for a Career in Medicine

Margo Greyvenstein Meet Margo Greyvenstein ’28, a sophomore at Marian University in Indianapolis whose passion for language, service, and science is shaping her path toward a career in medicine.

A Biology and Spanish double major at Marian University, Margo comes from a multicultural background—both of her parents are from South Africa—and she is trilingual. Her interest in language and communication has influenced many of the ways she engages on campus and in the community.

At Marian University, Margo is involved in a wide range of leadership and service roles. She serves as vice president of Sigma Delta Pi, the Spanish Honor Society, is a member of Sigma Zeta, and is president of the Medical Spanish Club. She also conducts plant research with Dr. Gutierrez, volunteers as a Spanish interpreter, co-leads a weekly Bible study, and works as a medical assistant at an urgent care clinic.

Last summer, Margo expanded her global learning through a study abroad program in Córdoba, Argentina, where she shadowed physicians at an allergy and immunology clinic at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. During the experience, she also supported the clinic’s social media outreach.

Margo plans to graduate early from Marian University and focus on preparing for the MCAT before attending medical school, where she hopes to specialize in rheumatology.

Having such a strong community at Marian is so important.
