Jeff Mayo ’16 Named Advocacy Committee Co-Chair for International Higher Education Organization

Jeff MayoJeff Mayo ’16, director of academic engagement at Marian University, has been appointed Advocacy Committee Co-Chair for the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), an international professional organization advancing academic support and student success in higher education.

In this national leadership role, Mayo will work with higher education professionals across the United States and abroad to strengthen advocacy efforts supporting tutoring, learning assistance, and equitable academic support programs. The committee engages policy issues affecting students and practitioners while promoting evidence-based learning practices that improve student outcomes.

“I am honored to serve my colleagues and their learners through this role,” Mayo said. “Advocacy is critical to ensure we uplift learners’ dignity and seek justice through equitable learning practices. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues both here in the U.S. and internationally to expand access and impact for the programs we lead and the learners we serve.”

The CRLA provides professional development, certification programs, conferences, and research that support learning centers and academic success initiatives at colleges and universities worldwide.
