Marian University Alumnus Brandon Koser, DO’17, Named Chief Medical Officer at Illinois Hospital

Koser steps into the role at Decatur Memorial Health Hospital effective December 1, following his service as the

A graduate of the Marian University Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Koser brings a blend of clinical expertise, operational experience, and public service. In addition to his responsibilities at Memorial Health, he serves as executive officer of the U.S. Army Reserve 804th Medical Brigade. His educational path includes a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia, followed by master’s degrees in public health and business administration from Benedictine University, and an emergency medicine residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

Dr. Koser says he’s humbled by the opportunity to serve in a new capacity, one that deepens his commitment to Decatur and the people who rely on the hospital every day.

“The medical staff here is a tremendous asset to DMH and our entire community,” he said. “I’m honored to continue working alongside so many talented, compassionate professionals in this new role.”
