Shining Star: Marian University Alumnus Earns Excellence in Teaching Award

Michael Saltoures ’20 teaching in a classroomA passionate educator and proud Marian University Knight, Marian alumnus Michael Saltoures ’20 has been recognized for his outstanding impact in education, receiving the Lisa Sablosky Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching from Teach for America Indianapolis.

Currently a teacher at Cold Spring School, Saltoures’ dedication and creativity have led to remarkable growth among his students and earned him admiration across the Indianapolis education community.

Under his guidance, students achieved an average median reading growth of 123% relative to the national norm and 96% met or exceeded their annual math growth goals, based on iReady data. These results reflect Saltoures’ commitment to empowering students to reach their highest potential through engaging instruction and personalized support.
