Marian University proudly celebrates Mark Saad, OMS-II, whose inspiring initiative has extended community health awareness beyond the classroom and into the heart of Carmel. Through the Meaningful Mentor program, Mark partnered with IMPACT Melanoma and Forefront Dermatology to place a public sunscreen dispenser in a high-traffic area of Midtown Carmel—an innovative step toward promoting skin cancer prevention and sun safety in the community.
Mark’s mentor and Marian alum, Robert Dazé, DO, FAAD, shared a deep admiration for his character, leadership, and dedication to the field of dermatology, noting that his achievements have far exceeded expectations. What began as a mentorship in medicine and ethics has evolved into a relationship founded on mutual learning and inspiration. Mark’s compassion, initiative, and commitment embody the Franciscan values Marian University instills in its students.
Students like Mark remind us why the calling to medicine is so meaningful—rooted in service, care, and the desire to make a difference. His bright future in dermatology and his unwavering drive to help others stand as a testament to Marian University’s mission to educate transformative leaders in healthcare.
