Sophomore Lilianna McMillen has become one of the most recognizable students at Marian University’s Ancilla College. Balancing academics, athletics, and leadership, she represents the kind of student that makes a lasting impact on campus and beyond.
Lily currently serves as president of Phi Theta Kappa, our institution's honor society, while also working as a resident assistant in the residence halls. On the field, she plays both shortstop and second base for our softball team. This year, her impact has stretched even further into the community when she was named Miss Friendship at the Marshall County Blueberry Festival Pageant.
McMillen is pursuing a degree in exercise science, with plans to continue her education at Marian University in Indianapolis after completing her time here at Plymouth. Her long-term goal is to earn a doctorate in exercise science and return to Marshall County, where she hopes to give back through her professional career.
Whether in the classroom, the residence halls, or on the softball field, Lily is known for her positivity. Her friends and peers describe her as someone who “lights up the whole room,” a quality that made her selection as Miss Friendship all the more fitting.
Being named Miss Friendship has been an honor and a confidence booster for Lily. She is eager to represent the community during the 59th annual Blueberry Festival Parade on Monday, September 1, and looks forward to competing next year for the title of Miss Blueberry.
Lily continues to balance her many roles on campus with positivity. For anyone who has the chance to meet her—whether at the festival or in the halls of Marian University—one thing is certain. She will brighten your day!
