Marian University Student Crowned Miss Indiana State Fair 2025

A young woman posing proudly beside her horse, showcasing several colorful competition ribbons.Marian University student Pilar Bravo is wearing two hats—literally—at this year’s Indiana State Fair: one as the newly crowned Miss Indiana State Fair 2025, and the other as a lifelong horse enthusiast and 10-year 4-H member.

A graduate of Perry Meridian High School and current business management major at Marian, Pilar has a long history with the fair. During her time in 4-H, she earned multiple Grand Champion titles and was a three-time Reserve World Champion in horse competitions. Though she’s no longer showing this year, she’s cheering on her sister, who’s taking the reins with one of their family’s horses.

In a recent interview with Hoosier Ag Today, Pilar said, “I’m really proud of her. It’s a little different being on the other side of things, but I’m happy to support her.”

When she’s not watching horse shows, Pilar is spending her summer visiting county fairs across Indiana—over 80 so far—as an ambassador for the 168th State Fair. Her goal? Visit all 92 counties before passing on her crown.

Pilar plans to attend law school after graduating from Marian, where she is also minoring in sociology and Spanish.

“It’s just one big family,” she says of the State Fair. “There’s something for everyone. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
