Marian Nursing Faculty Named Fellow of Prestigious Global Research Institute

Mackenzie FlynnMarian University Assistant Professor of Nursing Mackenzie Flynn has been selected as one of only 11 fellows for the 2025 IPR.Global Summer Research Institute (SRI), an internationally recognized program advancing interprofessional healthcare research.

Held in September, the Institute offers three days of intensive training followed by mentored project development, equipping fellows with skills in designing, funding, and sharing impactful research. Participants may also receive up to $2,000 in seed funding.

“I am honored to join this year’s cohort and to learn from such an accomplished group of mentors and peers,” Flynn said. “I look forward to applying these insights to my work with students, colleagues, and partners at Marian and beyond.”

Led by faculty from top universities in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., the program fosters collaboration among health professionals, educators, and researchers. IPR.Global recently received the 2025 National Academies of Practice Interprofessional Group Recognition Award for advancing healthcare teamwork and scholarship.

“Prof. Flynn’s selection for this competitive program reflects her dedication as both a nurse educator and collaborative researcher,” said Jonathan Lowery, PhD, Assistant Provost for Research & Scholarship. “Her work embodies Marian University’s mission to prepare leaders who can work across disciplines to improve healthcare and advance the common good.”
