On July 20, Marian University’s Arena and Convocation Center hosted the annual White Coat Ceremony for the Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-WCOM), honoring 162 students from the Class of 2027. This milestone event marks a significant transition in the students' journey, from the classroom-based, didactic phase of their education to hands-on clinical training in hospitals and healthcare settings.
As students donned their white coats, they symbolically stepped into the responsibilities and privileges of the medical profession. The white coat, long recognized as a symbol of trust, professionalism, and compassion in healthcare, represents each student’s commitment to serving patients with integrity and excellence.
Marian University President Daniel J. Elsener delivered remarks during the ceremony, joined by MU-WCOM Dean Amanda Wright, DO, and student doctor Aminta Scott.
