Marian University’s Project Build program was recently featured on the front page of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development’s (DWD) July 2025 newsletter, highlighting the launch of its new Entrepreneurship certification track.
Project Build, housed within the Klipsch Educators College at Marian, is an innovative adult education outreach program designed to empower adults—particularly those in underserved communities—with the tools they need to succeed in both education and the workforce. The program offers free instruction to help adult learners enhance their literacy and numeracy skills, prepare for the high school equivalency diploma, earn industry-recognized certifications, and develop job-ready skills.
In September, Project Build staff members Chris Matthews and David Taylor will join Nickie Nolting of DWD to present at the Indiana Association for Adult and Continuing Education (IAACE) Fall Conference in Michigan City. Their presentation will guide adult education directors through the essential steps for launching an Entrepreneurship Integrated Education and Training (IET) program. This innovative approach blends academic instruction with occupational training.
Project Build currently offers a wide range of courses at no cost to students, including:
Students enrolled in the program set personalized goals and work at their own pace, with access to Marian University professors and academic support. Project Build is committed to meeting learners where they are and helping them move forward—whether that means preparing for college, gaining certification, or finding a better job.
