From Malawi to Marian: Blessing Malunga ’27 Balances Campus Life and HR Internship with Purpose

Blessing MalungaBlessing Malunga ‘27 is an intern at Marian University in the Human Resources department. She is an international student from The Republic of Malawi; a country located in Eastern Africa in pursuit of career in investigative journalism.  

Blessing wanted to intern at Marian University due to easy access to on-campus employment while still receiving challenging and fruitful work experience. When asked what she has gained through her experience, she spoke about learning different work balances while staying true to herself. She elaborated on it when talking about how to communicate. 

She stated, “The biggest thing I’ve learned is understanding what people have to say and becoming a team player in a work environment.” 

She is involved in many on-campus activities including being the Student Government Association (SGA) representative for the Union for Black Identity (UBI), a San Damiano scholar, a college ambassador for Future Black Leaders, all while being part of the color guard. 

Blessing is a shining example of the many hardworking student interns at Marian University who are gaining valuable professional experience while actively contributing to the vibrancy and diversity of campus life.
