Kids n' Sibs Weekend

Q: How do I register my guest sib (sister/brother/niece/nephew/cousin/child/friend) for Kids n’ Sibs Weekend?

Q: How much does it cost for my guest to attend Kids n’ Sibs Weekend?
A: Attendance is free!

Q: Where will my guest stay/sleep?
A: If your guest is a boy or girl under the age of 10, he/she can stay in your residence hall room with the approval of your roommates. If your guest is older than ten, he/she must sleep in a room occupied by students of the same sex. If you would like to stay in a hotel, please click here to see nearby lodging options

Q: When should my guest arrive on campus?
A: Check-in will start in the Dinning Commons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening of Kids N Sibs Weekend.   
Q: What kinds of activities/events are scheduled for Kids n’ Sibs Weekend and for what age group?
A: We have events for all ages! We are prepared for small children, college-aged adults, and everyone in between. When planning, we make sure that our activities and events are appropriate for all ages.
Q: What if we need to cancel the registration? 
A:  Email Sarah Balana Molter at as soon as possible if you need to cancel your registration. 

Q: What does my guest need to bring for the weekend?
A: Bring clothes and personal items to be comfortable, including:

  • Toothbrush and other toiletries
  • Sleeping bag or blanket and pillow to sleep in residence hall
  • Comfortable clothing and shoes for various events. 
  • Any necessary medication
  • Don’t forget wear your Marian University gear for the basketball games. Our bookstore will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. if you wish to purchase some spirit wear.

Q: Who is responsible for guests? 
A: Marian University students, faculty, and staff are responsible for their guests during the weekend.

Q: How are emergencies handled? 
A: We have resident assistants (RAs) on call around-the-clock in every residence hall. Marian University Police are always available in case of emergencies. For emergencies, contact campus police at (317) 955-6789. 

Q: How will my guest eat while attending the program? 
A: Food and Snacks is provided at major events throughout the weekend. Other on-campus dining options include Subway, Starbucks, and our Dining Commons. 

Q: What do parents do during Kids n’ Sibs weekend?
A: Parents and guests are more than welcome to stay in a local hotel and participate in campus events. Adults will purchase their own meals and tickets for the basketball game. Many parents and guardians, however, simply drop-off their children for the weekend to allow for bonding time between students and their guests. They return to pick-up their child when the event concludes.

Q: My child/guest has special needs. How will they be accommodated?
A: Please let us know about any necessary accommodations on the registration form. We do our best to accommodate all special needs for guests.

Q: Can MU faculty and staff bring their children?

A: Of course! All are welcome.

Q: If I don’t register, can I still attend the events?
A: All are welcome to attend but we require a completed waiver of liability (included in the registration form) for children who will be attending.
