Driving

IndyGo public transportation

• The IndyGo public transportation system includes 30 bus routes covering downtown and suburban areas, including the airport.
• The standard fare is $1.75. If two or more buses are needed to reach your destination, consider a one-day pass for $4. Note: Exact change is required when you board the bus! You can use your one-day unlimited times on the day of purchase. You can request this day pass from the driver. Monthly passes, including the College S-Pass, are also available and will save you money if you plan to be a frequent rider.

Taxis and driving services

Taxicabs (called “taxis” or “cabs”) can often be found in front of large hotels and at one of several taxi stands in downtown Indianapolis. But, in most cases, you will phone to arrange taxi service. Fares are approximately $2 per mile, with additional charges for more than one passenger. Contact a taxi company to find current costs. Bikes

• Marian University provides a limited number of free bicycles for students to use. You can check them out through the campus Police Department for single-day use.
• Indianapolis was recognized by Away.com as one of the best cities to see from a bicycle seat in the world! Indianapolis has nearly 64 miles of bike lanes, with many of them on primary roads.
• The Indiana Pacers BikeShare program is also popular for transportation in around the downtown area. An annual membership costs $80 and day passes are available for $8. The bikeshare program is perfect for riding the eight-mile Indianapolis Cultural Trail and exploring downtown cultural districts, shops, attractions, restaurants, and more.
