On May 5, 2018, President and Mrs. Daniel J. Elsener hosted the annual President’s Appreciation Dinner. Nearly 250 supporters gathered in Alumni Hall to celebrate the many successes and accomplishments Marian achieved throughout the year. This dinner is the president’s chance to thank donors for listening to the university’s vision and sharing its passion.
“We are thankful for the hard work and dedication each student demonstrated on their journey to graduation, and look forward to watching them impact the world as Marian alumni,” President Elsener remarked at the dinner.
Throughout the 2017-18 academic year, Marian University has seen significant growth in a number of areas. The university graduated a record 933 students, adding new master and undergraduate programs, and opened three new facilities on campus: the Paul J. Norman Center, home of the Byrum School of Business, a new Dining Commons, and the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital Hall of Champions.
“Marian is making a name for itself as a great Catholic university that produces transformative leaders for service to the world, and our own transformation would not be possible without you,” John Finke, vice president for institutional advancement, said to guests.
Tom Enneking, Ph.D., executive vice president and provost, and his wife, Sherri Enneking, were awarded the Snyder-Watt Leadership Award for their exemplary service to Marian University. For the past 13 years, Dr. Enneking has been central to advancing the mission of Marian university. After much thought, prayer, and discussion, he has decided to retire as of July 1, 2018.
“Without your dedication, none of what we achieve would be possible, and we strive to express our gratitude for your selfless contributions through excellence in our academics, service to our students and alumni, and responsible stewardship,” President Elsener said.
