Marian University Introduces New Publication Focused on Catholic, Franciscan Identity

by Jackie Crone | Sep 04, 2014

In August, more than 1,000 Catholic leaders and supporters, statewide and throughout the nation, received a copy of The Faithful Leader, a quarterly newsletter focused solely on our Catholic and Franciscan identity.

This newsletter features articles written by the Office of Mission Effectiveness staff.

In the first issue, President Daniel J. Elsener explains that Marian University strives to be a “Seat of Wisdom university” inspired by the dedication of our founders, the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana to the Blessed Virgin Mary. “To accomplish this, we are committed to excellence in teaching and learning in the Franciscan and liberal arts traditions, a vibrant faith life on campus, and service to the Church and society,” he explained.

“We have already begun to receive positive feedback confirming that the celebration of our Catholic and Franciscan values is important to alumni who chose Marian University specifically for our faith-based teaching and learning,” stated Dan Conway, senior vice president for mission, identity, and planning.

The Faithful Leader is now available online.

“I hope you enjoy The Faithful Leader. We welcome your comments and suggestions as well as your prayers as we continue this new endeavor,” requests Conway.
