On Wednesday, December 19, 2012, Coach Ted Karras Jr. informed the administration that he has accepted a coaching position at Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio.

The Marian University football program has achieved great success in six short years, culminating in our 2012 NAIA Football Championship, and we are thankful for Coach Karras’ contribution to this success. On behalf of his national champion team, his former players, our Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students, and Knights fans everywhere, we wish him success in his new endeavor.

Marian University has already begun a search for our next football coach.
Because of the tremendous support of the Marian University community, our Board of Trustees, donors, and the larger Indianapolis community, we have a proven winning program with a wealth of talented players and recruits that will attract outstanding candidates for this position. We are confident that we will find someone who will continue the program’s outstanding record of achievement.

Marian University President Daniel J. Elsener said, “I wish to thank Coach Karras for his part in our great success. I ask you to join me in wishing him health, happiness, and all the best in his new venture.”
