MAP students, start planning for the next chance to study in England, coming in May 2012. For the fourth year, in collaboration with University of Evansville, MAP students can enroll in a Contemporary European Business Issues course at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England. This course gives students an opportunity to view, first hand, the European business community and culture. Grantham is nestled in rolling hills about an hour’s train ride from London. During the 10-day experience, students combine classroom lectures with field trips to neighboring communities and visits to businesses such as Jaguar and the United Bank of Sweden. The course concludes with a two-day stay in London, although students may wish to extend their stay even longer. HAR 365, Contemporary European Business Issues, is a four-credit hour course at MAP’s current tuition rate. Both the tuition and room and board for this experience can be covered by financial aid programs. Student accommodations are in Harlaxton Manor on the grounds of Harlaxton College. Airfare is the student’s responsibility and would be at prevailing rates at the time of purchase. MAP students who take this course can use it to fill any of the cultural awareness requirements of the ABA or BBA, as well as satisfying the management concentration course requirement, BUS 450 International Business, or the cross cultural requirement. The course can also be taken as an elective. To learn more about this unique experience, contact your academic advisor or Nancy Crosby at ncrosby@marian.edu. Better yet, seek out a MAP student who has attended our study abroad trip in the past. Hearing about Harlaxton College from a student who has been there will convince you this is something you won’t want to miss.
