Junior David Martin Wins Butler University Speech Tournament

Marian University speech team competed in Butler University tournament, traveled to Miami University (Ohio) on January 21-22, 2012.
The Marian University Speech Team competed in the Butler University Speech Tournament on January 21, 2012. Junior David Martin was the tournament winner in Persuasive Speaking. Junior Michael Baumann placed second in Rhetorical Criticism and fourth in Poetry. Freshman Alecia Kissel placed seventh in Poetry and fourth in Informative Speaking.   On January 22, 2012, the team traveled to Miami University (Ohio) to compete in its tournament. Freshman Alecia Kissel was the tournament champion in Informative Speaking; the team placed fourth overall. David Martin took another tournament championship in Persuasive Speaking, and finished sixth in Extemporaneous, fourth in Impromptu, and fifth in After Dinner Speech. He also placed third in Quadrathon, an award for students competing in four or more events. Michael Baumann placed fifth in rhetorical criticism.
