Beilby signed with Super Bowl XLIV champion New Orleans Saints.
The ESPN network reported on July 26, 2011 that Marian University football player Coy Beilby has signed a professional contract to play for the Super Bowl XLIV champion New Orleans Saints, the first Marian University Knight to do so.
During his career at Marian University, Beilby earned All-MSFA Mideast League team honors from 2008-2010. Last season, he was named All-MSFA Mideast League first team after leading the Knights to their first-ever 10-win season and their first-ever NAIA Football Championship Series victory.
Beilby anchored the offensive line that protected the NAIA's sixth-ranked total pass offense and the second-ranked pass offense in the MSFA. He is the first player to sign a contract with an NFL franchise after Chris White signed to compete in the Arena Football League after his graduation in 2009.
The Knights kick off the 2011 season on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St.Vincent Health Field when they host Olivet Nazarene University at 6 p.m. The game will air LIVE on the Knights Football Radio Network beginning at 5:45 p.m.
