Catholic High School Choral Festival

The 13th annual Catholic High School Choral Festival will take place on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at 7:30 p.m.
The 13th annual Catholic High School Choral Festival will take place on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bishop Chartrand Memorial Chapel on the Marian College campus. The Marian College Chamber Singers, Sacred Choir, and Women’s Chorus will be performing. There will also be performances by the following Indiana Catholic Schools:Bishop Chatard High SchoolBrebeuf Jesuit Preparatory SchoolCardinal Ritter High SchoolCathedral High SchoolOldenburg AcademyScecina Memorial High SchoolSaint Theodore Guerin High School Two new conductors this year include Don Robb from Bishop Chatard High School, and Clare Bain, who conducts the Marian College Chamber Singers and Sacred Choir. The organist will be Tom Nichols from Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Indianapolis. At the end of the festival, Phil Kern, an associate professor of music at Marian College, will lead his new original arrangement, Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning. The work will be published by Shawnee Press in 2009, and it is dedicated to all the participants of this year’s Catholic High School Choral Festival. The choral festival is open to the public at no charge; seats fill up quickly so plan to arrive at 7 p.m.
