Thanks to a generous donation from David B. Haire ’71 and his family, the building located at the main entrance of campus that previously housed offices for Indianapolis Civic Theatre will be transformed into the David B. Haire Family Welcome and Alumni Center. To celebrate, there will be a dedication and open house at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2008, the evening of the homecoming football game. There will be a victory party following the dedication. The new center will serve as a welcome center for prospective students and their families when they visit campus. For alumni, it will be a place to look through old photographs and yearbooks, talk to old friends, and remember their days at Marian College. Haire envisions the center as “the hub of new activity, new relationships, and new beginnings.” The Haire family intends for the new center to spark alumni to renew their interest in the direction of the college and be a part of its growth into a university. And, Haire hopes that “the Board of Trustees, college administration, and alumni will catch my enthusiasm for this place.”
