MU-COM Assistant Dean for Educational Development Receives National Award for Innovation

Sherry Jimenez, Ed.D., assistant dean for educational development at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM), received the Innovation in Medical Education Award for her work, “Implementing Embedded Assessment of Psychomotor Student Performance in Osteopathic Education and Research.”

The award is given out by the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine’s (AACOM) Society of Osteopathic Medical Educators in recognition of specific education innovations that resulted in meaningful change.

Dr. Jimenez specializes in student learning outcomes and assessment, curricular improvement, program implementation, faculty professional development, strategic planning, and accreditation management.

She was honored at the annual AACOM Awards Banquet on Friday, April 24, held during the joint AACOM and Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators (AODME) 2015 annual conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
