President of American Osteopathic Association Visits Campus

The president of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Ray Stowers, DO, met with key Marian University and medical leaders on June 26, on the campus of Marian University.

Stowers’ visit also included a luncheon with the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM) deans, a faculty and staff presentation on osteopathic medicine’s current issues and plans, and a tour of the new Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences with physicians from the Community Health Network.

“As the founding dean of DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee, Dr. Stowers understands all of the challenges of starting a new medical school,” said Paul Evans, DO, vice president and founding dean of MU-COM. “He was very complimentary to the Marian University team for the innovative planning, the new Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences, and the strength of our clinical education partnerships with local hospital networks.”

Marian University will celebrate the opening of the new Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Please join us and be among the first to see the new state of the art home to the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Alan and Sue Leighton School of Nursing.
