Year of the Alumni Kick-Off Weekend: July 17-19

by Amber Ferrari | Jun 11, 2014

Marian University’s tremendous growth over the past decade would not be possible without the generous support of our alumni. In honor of the thousands of alumni who proudly call Marian University their alma mater, we are proclaiming the 2014-15 academic year the Year of the Alumni.

Year of the Alumni officially kicks-off July 1, and festivities begin on Thursday, July 17 with Thirsty Thursday at Front Page Sports Bar and Grill located at 310 Massachusetts Avenue. On Friday, July 18, alumni will gather for Symphony on the Prairie. Rounding out the weekend is a new event for our alumnae, Tea on the Terrace, on Saturday, July 19.

For ticket information for Symphony on the Prairie or Tea on the Terrace, please contact Karen McNulty, assistant director of alumni relations, at kmcnulty2@marian.edu or call 317.955.6210.

This kick-off weekend is just the beginning of a year jam-packed with special events, chances to visit campus, and opportunities for networking with other alumni.

“Our alumni uphold our identity, support our current students, and enrich our institution in an important and unique way,” President Daniel J. Elsener said. “We want to celebrate their successes and re-engage with them so that they can help guide our direction into the future.”

Some additional events include:

And there are many, many more!

Be on the lookout for your Year of the Alumni save-the-date mailing with details on how you can participate in alumni video profiles, social media contests, and travel with Nomadic Knightro (a Knightro cut-out designed to join alumni on vacations and at events for photo opportunities).

“We’re going to knock your socks off,” said Nichole Ellis, director of alumni and donor relations. “Mark your calendars and plan to join us for many of the exciting events we have planned for you.”

Please continue to check our alumni page for frequent updates about all of the activities planned for the year.
