Anthony Shull

Anthony Shull is responsible for daily operations of international student recruitment and admissions, international services, study abroad, and international partnerships. He is charged with guiding Marian University through a comprehensive internationalization process. Shull has seven years of experience working in business and 14 years of experience in higher education. Before coming to Marian University, he served as executive director of international affairs at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. His areas of expertise are strategic planning for internationalization and international center start-up, international partnership development, ESL program development, and innovative/entrepreneurial program development. He has a bachelor’s degree in merchandising in business and a master’s degree in teaching English as a second language. Shull enjoys working closely with students, faculty, university leaders, and partners in creating opportunities which promote global competencies.

Jayson Deese

IEP+ Coordinator

Jayson Deese coordinates all aspects of the IEP+, with responsibilities beginning with each student's arrival in Indianapolis through the time they complete the program. Jayson has an M.A. in TESOL/applied ainguistics. He has taught English as a second language in an intensive English program at a large research university and has taught English as a foreign language in Saudi Arabia.  Jayson has more than five years of experience with English language programs. He is currently a Ph.D. student in higher education at Indiana University.

Tara Zahler

Tara Zahler has an M.A. in TESOL/applied linguistics and is a Ph.D. candidate in second language studies at Indiana University. Tara began her teaching career as a WorldTeach volunteer in Ecuador.  She has since taught in the United States, China, Panama, and Indonesia. In addition to teaching intensive and undergraduate courses in English language and composition, Tara has taught graduate courses in language teaching methodology and has facilitated several teacher development workshops.
