Honors at Graduation
Candidates in a baccalaureate program who have earned at least 60 credit hours of graded coursework at Marian University and who have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher are awarded honors as follows:
Traditional baccalaureate program
| 3.50-3.69 | cum laude |
| 3.70-3.79 | magna cum laude |
| 3.80 and above | summa cum laude |
Marian’s Adult Programs – baccalaureate program
| 3.50 - 3.69 | honors |
| 3.70 - 3.79 | high honors |
| 3.80 and above | highest honors |
Graduation honors will be noted in the graduation program, official university transcripts, and the graduate's diploma. Graduation honors will also be recognized at the ceremony. Students receiving honors will receive a gold honors tassel at the graduation rehearsal, to be worn at the Commencement Ceremony.
