Marian University Honored at the Indiana Pacers Game

by Katie Bradley | Jan 22, 2014

More than 200 alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends of Marian University attended Saturday’s Indiana Pacers game.

Before tip-off, the Indiana Pacers honored Marian University for the opening of Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM), Indiana’s first medical school in 110 years. President Daniel J. Elsener; MU-COM students Megan Ash, Ninah Clegg, Jonathan Adams, Ashley Heyman, and Thomas Sublett; and Knightro were invited onto the court for this special recognition.

“We had a great night. Not only did we get to watch an NBA powerhouse, but we also saw Marian University honored by the Indianapolis community. You felt proud to be a Knight,” said Jimmy Cox, associate director of student affairs at Marian University.

The Pacers earned a victory that evening, beating the Los Angeles Clippers 106-92. In the fourth quarter, Paul George stole the show with a reverse 360-windmill dunk.
