Passionate About Hope
Miriam Karwath, a psychology and theology major, is passionate about "hope for others." Her enthusiasm is evident in her spring internship in the Breaking Free Program through Family Service in Indianapolis.
As an intern advocate, Karwath spends her time in the courtroom with a social worker, where they both act as advocates for victims of domestic abuse. The Breaking Free Program exposes Karwath to all aspects of domestic violence from children and adults as victims as well as to the abuser. Karwath is motivated in new ways and is excited to use her expertise as an advocate in ministry or counseling in the future.
