Wide-Receiver Spent Summer Learning the Franchise Business

Wide-receiver, Ja Quan Patilla, put aside his helmet and donned a Pizza Hut polo shirt for the summer. Patilla, a junior business major, is hoping to own a Fitness Center someday and found that a summer internship with an Ohio/Indiana Pizza Hut franchiser proved to be a valuable experience for him. As an intern Patilla helped create a marketing plan for changing the buffet operations in their stores. “Our reward was seeing a record number of customers enjoying the new buffet option,” says Patilla.

He enjoyed learning about basic business operations, promotion and marketing. The internship gave him an opportunity to build a relationship with a businessman who showed him how to be successful. Patilla took a giant step toward becoming an entrepreneur.
