Gauck leads Knights at NKU - 4/2/2008

 
PERRY PARK, Kentucky - Sophomore Angela Gauck (Greensburg, Indiana/North Decatur) shot a 152 in a very competitive field at the Northern Kentucky University Spring Fling held at Perry Park Golf Resort. Gauck earned a tie for third place, just six strokes back of the winner.
 
The Knights earned a 13th-place team finish out of 21 programs with a two-day total of 675. The field featured 15 teams ranked or receiving votes in the latest NCAA division II and division III rankings. NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University won the tournament with a two-day total of 621.
 
Sophomore Kristen Welker (Kokomo, Indiana/Western) and freshman Lauren Nickoson (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) shot matching totals of 173 over the two rounds. Sophomore Karli Shepherd (Carmel, Indiana/Carmel) shot a 180 while sophomore Ashley Reed North Vernon, Indiana/Jennings County) shot a 195. Sophomore Colleen O'Connor (Cincinnati, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) and freshman Alyssa Simpson (Crawfordsville, Indiana/North Putnam) each shot a 198.
 
The Knights get back on the links when they head to Kendallville, Indiana and Noble Hawk Golf Course for the University of St. Francis Spring Invitational on April 11 and 12.
