Knights finish 16th at rain-shortened event - 3/30/2009

 
PERRY PARK, Kentucky - The Marian College women's golf team earned a 16th-place finish at the Northern Kentucky University Spring Invitational. The 36-hole event was shortened to 18 holes due to inclement weather.
 
Junior Angela Gauck (Greensburg, Indiana/North Decatur) led the Knights after she finished in a tie for seventh place. She carded a two-over-par 74 in the one round.
 
Sophomore Lauren Nickoson (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) picked up a tie for 66th place after she shot an 83 and junior Ashley Reed (North Vernon, Indiana/Jennings County) picked up an 89th-place finish after she shot an 87.
 
Sophomore Alyssa Simpson (Crawfordsville, Indiana/North Putnam) finished with an 88 while juniors Kristen Welker (Kokomo, Indiana/Western) and Krista Moore (Camby, Indiana/Decatur Central) shot an 89 and a 98, respectively.
 
The Knights hit the links on Monday and Tuesday next week when they are in Kendallville, Indiana, for the USF Cougar Spring Invitational at Noble Hawk and Cobblestone Golf Courses.
