Knights finish fourth to conclude fall - 10/7/2008

 
NASHVILLE, Tennessee - The Marian College women's golf team closed out its fall season with a fourth-place finish at the Trevecca Nazarene Fall Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee.
 
Junior Angela Gauck (Greensburg, Indiana/North Decatur) led the Knights with a third-place finish after she carded a 152. She opened the tournament with the lowest round of 71, but had trouble on day two and finished with an 81.
 
Junior Kristen Welker (Kokomo, Indiana/Western) shot a 176 (85-91) which was good enough for a 21st-place finish. Sophomore Alyssa Simpson (Crawfordsville, Indiana/North Putnam) carded a 181 (88-93) to finished in a tie for 24th place while sophomore Lauren Nickoson (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) carded a 190 (94-96) and finished tied for 33rd.
 
Junior Karli Shepherd (Carmel, Indiana/Carmel) carded a 191 (95-96) to finish in 35th place.
 
The Knights head into the spring season with confidence high and they are looking to qualify for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in their team's short history.
