RAPID CITY, South Dakota - Junior Angela Gauck (Greensburg, Indiana/North Decatur) was the lone golfer representing Marian College at the 2009 NAIA National Tournament at Meadowbrook Golf Course this week and she turned in her third straight top 10 performance.
Gauck, who finished third as a freshman and ninth as a sophomore, earned a tie for sixth place after closing the 72-hole tournament with a one-over-par 73. She finished the four-day competition with a total of 309, 12 shots back of the national champion.
She opened the tournament with a three-over-par 75 on Tuesday and endured brutal conditions on Wednesday when she shot an 11-over-par 83. However, she recovered on Thursday after she shot a six-over-par 78 and closed with Friday's one-over-par 73.
Gauck earned All-Tournament honors for the second straight season.
Oklahoma City University won its fifth straight national championship OCU's Sydney Cox won the individual national title after carding a 297.
