INDIANAPOLIS - Junior righthander
Sandy Corum (North Vernon, Indiana/Jennings County) became the second Marian College softball pitcher to earn the Mid-Central College Conference Pitcher of the Week award on Tuesday.
Corum, who is currently 6-0 this season, made three starts last week and went 2-0 for the week. She defeated the No. 9-ranked Bethel College Pilots on Saturday, 4-1, to snap their 35-game MCC winning streak in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Corum finished the week with a 1.24 earned run average, allowed just two walks, and struck out 17 for the week.
Two weeks ago, senior Heather Pieper was named MCC Pitcher of the Week and senior Samantha Hypes was named MCC Player of the Week in that same week.
The Knights are out of conference on Wednesday when they head to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College at 3:30 p.m. The Knights swept SMWC to open their new stadium on March 21.
